What we have done, what we know is not good enough yet, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

The building
The Grosvenor Arms is a Victorian corner building at 204 Garratt Lane, Earlsfield, London SW18 4ED. Some of what that means is lovely and some of it is genuinely inconvenient, so here is the honest position.
- Step-free access to the ground floor, including the bar, dining room and coffee counter.
- An accessible WC on the ground floor.
- The first floor — the working floor and the function room — is reached by stairs. There is no lift.
- Assistance dogs are welcome throughout, as are all well-behaved dogs on the ground floor.
- Menus are available in large print. Ask anyone behind the bar.
The first floor being up stairs with no lift is the real limitation, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If you want to attend something that is scheduled upstairs and the stairs are a barrier, tell us when you book and we will move it downstairs or set you up on the ground floor. That is a standing offer, not a favour.
Call us on 020 8874 1878 or email hello@thegrosvenorarmssw18.com to ask about anything specific before you come.
This website
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means:
- every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on everything you can reach
- text and background colours are tested for contrast, including cream type over photography
- images that carry meaning have alt text, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers
- headings run in a logical order, with one h1 per page and real landmark elements
- forms have properly associated labels and error messages that say what to do next
- nothing animates for more than five seconds without a control to stop it
- if you have asked your device to reduce motion, animations and any background video do not autoplay
- tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels
- the site never scrolls sideways, and menus can be read without pinching to zoom
- no information is locked inside an image, a PDF or a script — if a fact matters, it is HTML text
Things we know about
- The booking form is provided by SevenRooms and runs inside a frame. We do not control its markup. If you have trouble with it, call us on 020 8874 1878 and we will take the booking directly.
- The embedded map is Google's and we do not control its markup either. The full address, transport details and a directions link are all available as text on the contact page without loading it.
- Menu PDFs are a secondary download. The full menu is always available as HTML text on the same page, which is the version that works with a screen reader.
Tell us when we get it wrong
If you cannot use part of this site, or you hit a barrier in the building, we want to know. Email hello@thegrosvenorarmssw18.com or call 020 8874 1878. Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened. We will reply within one working day and tell you what we are doing about it.
If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
How we test
This site is checked with keyboard-only navigation, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and automated contrast and markup testing on every page. Testing is done on real devices — iOS Safari and Android Chrome — not only in a desktop browser at a narrow width.
